This April, in recognition of National Child Abuse Prevention Month, I had the privilege of serving as Co-Chair for the 12th Annual Blue Ties & Butterflies Gala, held at The Ritz-Carlton Sarasota. It was a powerful and emotional evening that brought our community together in support of the Child Protection Center (CPC) and their vital mission.
As a mother, advocate, and proud Sarasota resident, being part of this event in a leadership role was incredibly meaningful to me. The gala raised critical funds for CPC, an organization that has spent over 45 years working to prevent, intervene in, and treat child abuse right here in our community.
April is a time to reflect on how we can all play a part in protecting children and supporting healing for those impacted by abuse. Through CPC’s tireless work and with the help of events like Blue Ties & Butterflies, we’re able to move toward a future where every child feels safe, supported, and seen.
The evening featured beautiful moments of connection, heartfelt stories from survivors, and a shared sense of purpose. I’m deeply thankful to everyone who attended, donated, or contributed their time and energy to make the night a success.
If you’re looking for a way to get involved this month or beyond, I encourage you to learn more about the Child Protection Center’s mission and how you can support: https://cpcsarasota.org
Together, we can create a future rooted in safety, healing, and hope.
With gratitude,
Jenn Flanders
