Looking for fun things to do in Sarasota this weekend? By now you know I love Farmers Markets. I go to the Sarasota Farmers Market every weekend and here are some things I want you to know…
A few (of many) of my “must stop at” vendors from the Farmers Market starts with Jimmy’s Java… which is my first stop for fresh ground coffee and a cold brew to sip while I walk, then I hit up the guacamole girl at Dynasty Guacamole for the best guac around.
I never miss a stop off at Sugar Sand Silver for awesome, hand crafted jewelry and conversation. There are many other great vendors that I love but wanted to share a few this week! (Tip: go early, it is getting hot 
!)They open at 7am.

Come meet Mirabel and join us for a free showing of Encanto at our next Screen on The Green on Friday, June 24. Families and friends of all ages are invited to bring lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy onsite concessions from Origin, Uncle Phil’s Popcorn, and Brewed Monday Coffee. Fun flicks are shown on The Green at UTC every fourth Friday of the month.
The Green is located in the West District at UTC, directly across from Gifts & More at the Paper Store. Limited seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

NBP Rec Days

It’s a great way to experience NBP, family-style! Participants will have the opportunity to try stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking, canoes, fishing, and more! (Wednesday NBP Rec Days! are ideal for homeschool and Florida Online School students!) And beginning in September, we’ll offer rides in a 15-foot sailboat (with a captain)!
Fees are $10 for adults, $5 for children, ages 6 and younger are free, and families (two adults and three or more children) are $40. Freshwater fishing licenses are required for any participants age 16 and older who desire to cast a line or a net. (All must complete the waiver forms — the link is below.) Registration and waiver forms are available onsite. NBP Rec Days! are held at the base of the finish tower on Regatta Island. Depending on events, however, they may move to the west shore, near the playground. We’ll let you know with a post in the event discussion if that change is made. This week’s performance features Jelly Roll Jazz and will be held on the Van Wezel Terrace! Denise Blondeau, a vocalist from San Francisco, now living in Sarasota, Fl. Since its establishment in 2014, Jelly Roll Jazz gained a loyal following due to lively arrangements and performances of jazz standards from the 30s & 40s. Denise attended the California Jazz Conservatory, Berkeley, California. Performance venues include Napa Valley wineries, and numerous jazz houses and yacht clubs in the San Francisco Bay Area. Trumpet player, Timothy Eaton, is a performer/educator and has performed with a wide variety of artists including Johnny Mathis, Bernadette Peters, The Four Tops, The Temptations, Don Rickles, Jerry Lewis, and many, many others. As a professional conductor, he has had the pleasure of working with Michael Bolton, Martina McBride, The Ringling Bros & Barnum, and Bailey Circus as well as local musical theater productions. Rafael Aguiar a.k.a. ‘Ruffus’ is from Valença, Brazil, and is a multi-talented performer, composer, and producer. He plays piano, saxophone, and oboe. B.A., Souza Lima Conservatory, Sao Paulo, BR. M.A., Berklee College of Music, Boston, MA.He has been a part of Venue2003 Mato Grosso Orchestra of Flute 2004 till 2007; The Ourinhos Jazz Festival; OBLIO, quintet led by the guitarist Asher Kurtz and Latin Quarters of Sarasota.
